Camp Regis Applejack is seeking a Waterfront Supervisor for 2016 Summer season. This person will supervise all waterfront operations including swimming, canoeing, waterskiing, sailing and special programs. Provide leadership and supervision to a team of lifeguards and general camp staff. Maintain high level of safety. Must have at least one season’s experience working on a waterfront or at a pool. Environmental Education Instructor
Camp Regis Applejack is searching for a residential Environmental Education Instructor for the year 2016 season. Requirements to apply are a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, experience working with youth and a desire to work and play outdoors. Instructors teach and lead groups of campers in a variety of outdoor, environmental and adventure classes and activities. All necessary trainings and certifications such as Level I ACCT low and high ropes challenge, NASP archery, ACA flatwater canoe/kayak, Red Cross or AHA first aid/CPR, etc. are paid as a part of our on-site staff development. The camp requires that all applicants will have completed at least one year of college by the time employment begins. At camp, we have two different types of staff members. The specialty counselors teach in one of our six activity areas. This includes: boating (all types), swimming (Red Cross Open Water Certificate required), athletics (with large sports fields and 6 tennis courts), pioneering and camp craft (Red Cross First Aid Certificate required), arts and crafts, and dramatics. Specialty counselors have occasional group responsibility. The other type of staff member is our group counselor. Every group has at least two group counselors who live in the cabin with their group. These counselors are mainly responsible for the smooth functioning of their cabin, but also are expected to assist in the specialty areas at certain times. Salary competitive + full room and board. Camp Operations Staff
We also have job openings for nurses (R.N.), office managers/assistants, maintenance and kitchen workers.
Every cabin has at least two group counselor who are responsible for the children in that group ad the smooth functioning of their cabins.
Work with sailing, canoeing, windsurfing, kayaking, rowing, fishing and water-skiing. Must be certified waterfront instructor with experience in all boating areas.
Lifeguarding as well as teaching. (Red Cross Certifications required)
Work on our large athletic fields with many different sports. We also have a very popular archery area. Lead exploration the Adirondack woods with beginner and advanced riders. Light instruction and maintenance of bikes.
Teach and play tennis on six all weather courts. Emphasis is on stroke definition, skill building, tennis etiquette and tournament play.
Wilderness Trips/Camp Craft/Natural Science/Animal Care
Hike and canoe in the beautiful six million acre Adirondack Park Wilderness area. (Red Cross Certifications required)
Teach children about our environment through walks in the bog, trips to the nature center and taking care of baby animals on our farm.
Arts and Crafts:
Over thirty different kinds of media are available to our campers in our large studio including potters wheels and two kilns.
Come on up to our music room, which is located over our boat house. The piano and acoustic guitar are our primary instruments although campers enjoy all kinds of music, including singing.
Help direct our weekly plays, talent shows and musicals in the Regis Playhouse, fully equipped with stage, lights, curtain and scenery.
Teach gymnastics and dance along at the beginning levels. Help assist in the choreography of the musicals and preparing the children for talent shows.
Administrative staff, Department heads for specialty areas, Nurses and Health care workers, Office managers, Maintenance workers, kitchen cooks and kitchen helpers.
